100% Natural Bamboo
An Amazing Natural Resource
The word 'Ohe is Hawaiian for "bamboo". Bamboo is the fastest growing plant in the world, which makes it an amazing renewable resource. Some species can grow nearly 3 feet in a single day! But its eco-friendly superpowers don't end there. Bamboo has natural pest resistance, making pesticides unnecessary, and it also absorbs more carbon dioxide from the air, and produces 30% more oxygen, than any other plant, helping reduce greenhouse gasses and effectively cleaning the air. Bamboo is also the strongest natural fiber in the world. It is also naturally hypoallergenic, anti-bacterial, antimicrobial, antifungal, and wicks away moisture.
An Amazing Cause
A portion of our proceeds go to support the Hawaiian Legacy Reforestation Initiative (HLRI), which is a nonprofit organization working to restore the decimated King Koa, Royal Sandalwood, and Monarch Milo forests in Hawaii. HLRI has planted more than 300,000 endemic trees on the Island of Hawaii and has commitments for nearly 700,000 more over the coming years–well on its way to its overall goal of planting 1.3 million trees (one for each man, woman, and child in Hawaii).
